Surface Precedences

The Precedences tab for Surface scenarios contains the Precedence Modes pane, 2D Canvas, and the pane that contains the Precedences data grid.

The Precedences Modes pane is available only when the Precedences tab is active. The pane contains the Select/Move and Add Precedence modes. Select/Move mode allows you to select locations in the 2D Canvas. When a location is selected the precedences and priorities that are set for the location are displayed in the data grids. Add Precedence mode allows you to create precedences between locations graphically.

The pane that contains the Precedences data grid contains three tabs. The default, Precedences, tab contains the Precedences data grid. The Precedences data grid allows you to define that a mining location cannot start until a previous mining location is completed.

The Production Priorities tab contains the Initial production priorities data grid. The Production Priority Changes tab contains the Production priority changes data grid. The priorities data grids allow you to define the initial priory for each location and to define changes to the priorities throughout the schedule.

Columns in the Precedences Data Grid

Column Description
Active
  • Selected: The precedence rule is applied to the locations.
  • Cleared: The precedence rule is not applied to the locations.

Tip: When you clear the Active check, you make the precedence rule ineffective without deleting the rule.

Predecessor

The location in which mining must be complete before mining can begin in the Successor location.

Tip: You can use named wildcards to specify precedences between multiple pairs of predecessor and successor locations. You specify multiple precedences by creating rules based on the names of the locations in the Named Wildcard Builder.

Delay The time, in days, that must pass after mining is complete in the Predecessor location before the Successor location becomes available for mining.
Successor

The location that is not available for mining until mining is complete in the Predecessor location.

Tip: You can use named wildcards to specify precedences between multiple pairs of predecessor and successor locations. You specify multiple precedences by creating rules based on the names of the locations in the Named Wildcard Builder.

Comments Any notes you want to record about the precedence.

Note: If multiple precedences are set up for a location, all of the predecessor locations must be completed before the successor location becomes available for mining.
